The Folsom Street Fair is the world's premier leather and kink event — a massive outdoor street fair that closes multiple blocks of Folsom Street in San Francisco's SoMa neighbourhood. Founded in 1984, it is the third-largest event in California and the largest leather event in the world, drawing over 250,000 attendees.
The street fair features dozens of vendor booths selling leather, latex, and fetish gear; multiple stages with live performances; community organisations; and a remarkable atmosphere of freedom and acceptance. Dress code is leather, kink, or fetish — the more creative the better.
Folsom weekend in San Francisco is a city-wide celebration. The weeks around the fair are packed with leather and fetish events, club nights, and parties across the city. The Eagle SF, Powerhouse, and other SoMa leather bars are the social hubs.
Folsom Street Fair 2026 takes place on the last Sunday of September in the SoMa (South of Market) neighbourhood of San Francisco. The street fair runs along several blocks of Folsom Street, featuring vendor stalls, performance stages, and community organisations. Dress code is leather, fetish wear, or creative expression — street clothes are technically allowed but the spirit of the event is full participation.
