Arosa Gay Ski Week bills itself as Europe's favourite LGBTQ+ ski week, and with more than two decades of history it has a strong claim. For a week each January, the quiet Swiss village of Arosa fills with LGBTQ+ skiers for days on the slopes and evenings of après, dinners and parties. The 2027 edition runs from Saturday 16 to Saturday 23 January.
The Arosa Lenzerheide ski area has around 225km of pistes across two linked valleys, with plenty of sunny, intermediate-friendly runs. The week usually includes guided ski and snowboard groups for different levels, so it suits solo travellers and first-timers as well as groups of friends.
Evenings centre on the village's hotels and bars, with welcome drinks, themed parties, live entertainment and a big closing party. The week is small enough that you'll keep running into the same faces, which makes it a sociable event to attend alone.
Most attendees book an all-in package through the organisers, combining a hotel, a lift pass and access to the event programme. It's an easy way to do the week, and packages often sell out well ahead.
Fly to Zurich, take a train to Chur, then ride the scenic Arosa railway up the valley. The whole trip takes about 2.5 hours and is part of the fun. Partner hotels are spread across the village, linked by a free local bus.
Arosa Gay Ski Week 2027 runs 16–23 January in Arosa, Graubünden, Switzerland. Packages, which typically bundle accommodation, a lift pass and event access, are at arosagayskiweek.com.
